Best lemon meringue pie

Ingredients:
• 3 tbsp cornstarch
• 1 cup sugar
• 2 tbsp flour
• 1½ cups water
• Juice and zest of 2 lemons
• 2 tbsp butter
• 4 egg yolks (save the whites!)
• Meringue:
• 5½ tbsp sugar
• 4 large egg whites
• ¼ tsp cream of tartar
• 1 baked 9-inch pie crust
Instructions:
Make the Pudding: In a saucepan, combine cornstarch, sugar, flour, water, lemon juice, and zest. Stir until thick, then add butter and egg yolks until smooth. Pour into the cooled pie crust and chill.
Prepare the Meringue: Whip egg whites until soft peaks form. Gradually add sugar and cream of tartar until stiff peaks form.
Assemble and Bake: Spread meringue on pie. Broil on low until golden brown, watching closely. Chill before serving or enjoy right away!
