How to make this super yummy Honeycomb Buns from scratch. You can make fresh bread at home any time of the day. Free from preservatives and chemicals to feed your family.
Here’s what you’ll need:
1 cup milk (250ml)
1 egg
2 tsp instant yeast (6g)
3 tbsp honey (30g)
1/4 cup powdered milk (30g)
3 cups bread flour (375g) plus more for the counter
1 tsp salt (5g)
3 tbsp unsalted butter (36g)
Cream cheese for filling, 1 tsp each dough ball
For the glaze:
3 tbsp salted butter (melted)
3 tbsp condensed milk
Instructions:
1. In a mixing bowl, mix together milk, egg, yeast and honey.
2. Add powdered milk, flour and salt.
3. Mix until dough is formed.
4. Add softened butter and mix until fully absorbed.
5. Knead, slap and fold until smooth.
6. Cover and let it rise until doubled in size.
7. Punch air out and transfer to a floured counter.
8. Divide into 32 equal pieces or 25 grams each.
9. Round into a ball and bench rest for 10-15 minutes.
10. Flatten the dough and fill with a teaspoon of cream cheese or any cheese you like.
11. Pinch the edges to seal.
12. Cover and let it rest for 25 minutes.
13. Preheat oven at this moment, 170C or 340F.
15. Brush proofed buns with eggwash and top with sesame seeds.
16. Bake for 15 to 18 minutes or until light golden.
17. Make the glaze, mix together melted butter and sweetened condensed milk and brush on top of hot buns.
18. Serve and enjoy!
