BUTTERSOFT BUNS are the best dinner rolls you can make at home!
Hey darling bakers, here’s the written recipe of my Buttersoft Buns that went viral.
Here’s what you’ll need:
1 tbsp sugar 10g
2 tsp active dry yeast 6g
1 cup milk 237ml (please use warm milk, evap, or fresh or UHT milk)
½ cup unsalted butter (110g)
1 large egg
3½ cup all purpose flour (437g)
¼ cup sugar (50g)
1 tsp salt (5g)
2 tbsp oil for bowl
Egg wash
1 egg and 1 tbsp milk
Instructions:
1In a bowl, mix together sugar, active dry yeast and milk. Mix well and let it bloom for 10 minutes or until foamy. Add melted butter and egg. Mix well.
2Add flour, sugar and salt. Mix until dough is formed. Let it sit for 20 minutes (uncovered).
3Transfer to a lightly floured counter. Brush dough with a little bit of butter. Knead for 10 minutes or until smooth.
4Smooth into a ball. Place in an oiled bowl and cover for 1 hour or until doubled in size. (First proofing)
5Punch the dough to release gas. Transfer to a lightly floured counter and divide into 16 equal pieces. Form and smooth into a ball. Place in a 9×9 inches pan, lined with parchment paper.
6Cover and let it rest for 30 minutes or until doubled in size (second proofing).
