Notes:
Preparation: Preheat the oven to 350°F and prepare a baking sheet with non-stick spray.
Dough Handling: When working with the crescent roll dough, ensure to unroll it carefully and seal any perforations to prevent filling leakage during baking.
Rolling Dough: Roll each half of the dough into a 12-inch rectangle. This ensures uniform thickness and even baking.
Baking First Half: Bake the first half of the rolled-out dough for 8 to 10 minutes until lightly golden. This pre-baking step helps prevent a soggy bottom crust.
Layering Ingredients: Start layering the ingredients on the partially baked dough. First, line with Swiss cheese slices, then spread the sauerkraut mixed with Thousand Island dressing, followed by a layer of corned beef, and finally, top with more Swiss cheese slices.
Sealing Edges: Place the second half of the rolled-out dough over the top of the filling and pinch the edges together all around the bottom to seal in the cheese and filling.
Final Baking: Bake the assembled Crescent Reuben Bake for an additional 20 minutes or until the top is lightly golden browned. This ensures the dough is fully cooked and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Serving: Allow the bake to cool slightly before slicing and serving. It can be served as a main dish or cut into smaller portions for appetizers or party snacks. Enjoy the delicious blend of flavors reminiscent of a classic Reuben sandwich in a convenient baked form.
