Chicken Pandesal / Spicy Chicken Buns
How to make this super yummy and super soft Spicy Chicken Buns.
Here’s what you’ll need:
SPICY CHICKEN FILLING (Doubled)
1 medium onion (chopped)
4 cloves garlic (minced)
400 grams chicken breast (diced)
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
2 tbsp oyster sauce
2 tsp paprika
2 tsp chili flakes
3/4 cup water
~~ the amount of ingredients in the video was doubled for the Chicken Filling (you can adjust or half it)
SUPERSOFT DOUGH:
1 egg
1/2 cup milk (125ml)
2 tbsp sugar (30g)
1 tsp instant yeast (3g)
2 cups all purpose flour or bread flour (250g)
1/2 tsp salt (2g)
3 tbsps butter (42g)

Instructions:

Recipe:

1. Saute onions and garlic in 2 tbsp oil over medium heat.

2. Add chicken and all the seasoning and spices.

3. Add water and cover for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally.

4. Turn off heat when sauce thickens and reduced. Set aside.

5. Meanwhile, let’s make the dough. In a mixing bowl, mix together milk, egg, sugar and yeast.

6. Add flour and salt. Mix until the dough forms.

7. Add softened butter and mix until butter is fully absorbed.

8.Transfer to a lightly floured counter. Knead, slap and fold until smooth and elastic.

9. Smooth into a ball and coat with oil.

10. Cover for 1 hour or until doubled in size.

11. Then deflate the proofed dough by punching the air out.

12. Divide into 9 equal portions. Approx 55 grams each.

13. Smooth each dough into a ball. Bench rest for 10 minutes with cover.

14. Roll out each dough ball and fill with spicy chicken filling.

15. Pinch to seal the edges. Dredge in bread crumbs.

16. Place in a greased 8 x 8 inches square baking dish or any dish you have.

17. Cover for 30 minutes.

18. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C/350°F for 20-25 minutes.

19. Serve and enjoy!
